Twist the Club (to get rid of topped and fat shots)
#morepars #golflesson #golftips
If you want more pars, you have to twist the club. Many players don’t and they end up with the chicken wing, slices, weak-rights, topped shots, chunked and fat shots. No fun. Instead, let’s get you to twist the club to close the face. You’ll be amazed what happens!
STOP guessing. Get professional help.

    1st off. Love the background, and your quite nice to look at as well. Love the way you say posture...lol but the best thing is range of motion with the left arm. Cant wait to try thus on the range tomorrow. GREAT TIP!!!!

    hi, this is really good. I'm also trying to keep arms straight although I know the right one bends a bit, but this may help me bring it back to it's home position with arms straight at impact. Much love 💙

  • @Frank020
    @Frank020 День назад

    Hi, yeah. I have problems with the top of the swing on the driver. the left arm stiff straight is just too much, since I see a lot of players bring that driver all the way behind the head. Then coming back to the drive the arms did not extend straight unless I think that I am pulling a rope.

    If I can see the hole it's flag out unless I'm on my own having a casual tap around and can't be bothered take the flag out. On distance putts I prefer tended because as you rightfully said the hole is bigger. I've had putts that would have dropped if the flag was out that have hit the flag and bounced out. I used to try and use the flag as a reference of the undulations but as they are seldom truly upright it doesn't really work. I have no Idea if I'm alone in this but, as I approach the green and see my ball. I'm already looking if the putt is uphill, down hill or flat.Generally whether it looks left to right or right to left or straight. I then stand behind the ball and read then look from the other side of the flag to see if I've missed anything. I then go to my ball. I'm not a line the ball up person so unless it needs cleaning or marking for someone else to play their shot. I don't pick my ball up. From there I take what I've seen on my 2 reads and try to visualize the ball travelling towards the hole taking those breaks. I then take 2 or3 practice strokes whilst looking at the hole and my ball position to try to get a feel for how I'm going to hit it. I then line up and pick my aim point ( the point on the ground I want the ball to roll over rather than that silly finger waving stuff) I look at the hole the aim-point the ball a couple of more times then focus on the ball and the putter face ( that I'm as confident as I can be that I'm pointing it the right way) and I take my shot looking at the point on the ball I want to hit and only look up once the ball has gone. If you're near the hole you'll often hear the ball dropping into the cup before you look up.

    A teaching pro told me it depends on the type of pin it is. A metal pin that is somewhat thick and heavy should be pulled. I agree. Twice, with this type of pin in the hole, I’ve had a 30’ putt bounce off the pin and not go in. And both were dying at the hole. The pro said the thin fiberglass pins are less of a problem if you leave them in. Other suggestions were, leave it in on downhill putts and pull it on uphill putts. It’s personal preference, but I take the pin out always.

      I learnt to putt when I was around 6 years old ( I'm almost 10x as old now) When I first started I used to putt everything dead weight and allow break. ( I got very good at it) One day I was practising putting with my older Cousin ( who was in single figure hc in this teens) And he said "What are you doing reading 3 and 4 foot putts?" He explained ball slightly back in the stance firm straight at the back of the cup can't miss! I remember it every time I have a 3 or 4 footer I don't like the look of.

    I had the hardest time with "leaving the Flagstick IN", after the 2019 Rule Change. 45 Years of this being a "No, No! TWO Stroke Penalty!!!" would set off a subconscious Red Flag for quite awhile. Like you, on longer Putts I will leave it IN anytime when I would have asked for the Flagstick to be attended and pull it for shorter Putts. Simple "Taps Ins" I usually don't bother to pull it out.

    Years ago was watching Lee Trivino talk about the flag and chipping (Before the new covid rule keeping the flag in), He said "On a flat or uphill chip, always take the flag out but on down hill leave in because the back of the hole is lower. I would think this works on putting. Do you agree?

    What??? Little confused here. I don't think anyone would have both wrists up and down in the back swing. It would look goofy. If you cock the left wrist and bring the handle back in your backswing every thing just happens naturally.

    • @MorePars

      During the backswing the lead hand hinges vertically and the trail hand as it gets to the top will hinge horizontal (holding a pizza tray).

    Always great info from Christina. I used to do the stand up on the downswing. It's like bullfighting. Ole!. So bad. You need to go down and get it. IMO, amount of forward bend depends on relative length of the player's femur bones vs lower legs. Start with proper fore/aft balance on the feet (e.g. toe vs heel weighting). Then figure out how much knee bend and hip hinge you need to make that work.
